What's the deal with refurbished?
This instrument is stamped "used" on the back of the headstock and given a new serial number by the manufacturer-authorized refurbisher. Why? It was deemed to have a cosmetic imperfection or to need a repair. Check the description to see exactly why this instrument is considered refurbished. We scrutinize every instrument and pass along all information from the refurbisher so that you know exactly what you are getting. These are like new with little or zero play wear!
The largest-bodied member of the California Series, the Redondo Classic is constructed of all-solid tonewoods to deliver a tone that is rich, warm and dynamic. Most notably, the midtones have a natural, woody character that anchors the sound beautifully. The lows and highs are perfectly balanced on either side to provide powerful bottom end and a clear, smooth upper register. The painted body top is offset with gorgeous Koa body binding and soundhole rosette and paired with a matching headstock for a look that is classic Fender all over.
This particular instrument has a few light scratches on the top around the bridge and some very light scuffing on the edge of the headstock in one spot. Lastly, there is a tiny dent in the body binding on the side of the body. We have included a close-up photo of each imperfection. Aside from what we have described, this instrument is in mint condition.
How Does It Play?
We have given this guitar a nice pro setup to make sure it is playing its best. The string action measures just 3/32" on the low E string at the 12th fret and 2/32" on the high E, nice and low without any buzz. The electronics, designed cooperatively by Fender and Fishman, are really top notch.
The Fender FA620 Deluxe gigbag pictured is brand new and included.
