What's the deal with refurbished?

This instrument was either an overstock or was deemed by the factory to have an imperfection. Check the description to see exactly why this instrument is considered refurbished. We scrutinize every instrument we sell and pass along all information from the refurbisher so that you know exactly what you are getting. The guitar is not stamped used or 2ND and the original serial number is present and not tampered with. These are like new with little or zero play wear! 

This mid-sized orchestra shaped acoustic is equally suited for strumming and fingerpicking, and produces a sweet, balanced tone. The perfect choice for the versatile musician, the OM-240CE features a solid Sitka spruce top, mahogany sides, arched mahogany back, and an elegant cutaway for access to higher frets. Guild’s signature arched back design allows for great volume and projection, long sustain, and a lush, full sound. The OM-240CE features Guild’s AP-1 pickup, a bone nut and saddle, pearloid rosette, period-correct tortoiseshell pickguard, and a matte polyurethane finish.

This particular instrument has a little bit of excess glue visible where the bass side of the neck heel joins the body, and a very small dent on the back of the neck at around the 3rd fret. This favors the treble side and we do not feel it at all while playing. We have included a close-up photo of each imperfection. Aside from what we have described, this instrument is in mint condition. It still even has the factory plastic film on the pickguard!

How Does It Play?

The string action on this guitar is superb, hovering down close to 5/64" on the low E string at the 12th fret and 4/64" on the high E. There is no fretbuzz. The guitar is very resonant. Every one varies, and this is definitely one of the best we have heard. The tone will definitely surprise you for the price tag.
