This great new orchestra model is an addition to the new TT Series of "Thermal Top" acoustics from Takamine. The top wood is treated with high heat to modify the resins and sugars in the wood. This imparts a played-in vintage tone and feel that is surprising in a brand new instrument. The CP7MO TT is an understated "working" guitar that features solid ovangkol back and sides for a balance of lows and highs across the guitar's spectrum.

The neck is made of mahogany with an ebony fingerboard. The nut is a traditional 45mm (1.75”), great for players of a wide variety of styles. The body and neck are bound in elegant grained ivoroid. The guitar is appointed with subtle 3mm abalone dots, an abalone rosette, and a distinctive abalone “T” on the headstock. Like the other guitars in the TT Series, it features the stealthy TLD-2 Line Driver preamp and Takamine's legendary Palathetic pickup system.

What Do We Think?

This guitar has a marvelous shimmer and a nimble, lively top. The low end is bold and controlled, the midrange is punchy and vibrant, and the highs are sweet and sugary. It doesn’t lose any body volume to a cutaway, making the most of its compact OM-body dimensions while remaining easy to play. The 14-fret neck joint means you can chord even in the 12^th position. The Line Driver preamp does its job wonderfully while being tucked away from sight, saving the body again from a cutout, loss of wood and loss of resonance.

We give a thorough setup to every instrument that comes through our shop. From truss rod to nut slots, fretwork to saddle height, you can rest assured we have this one dialed in. We also do a thorough inspection and check of all electronics and hardware to make sure nothing slips by!
