This beautiful Gatton Custom was commissioned in late 2018 and features an array of exotic features and upgrades. 1-pc Mahogany thinline body, Flame Maple top and 5A Roasted Maple neck, Hipshot locking tuners to start. Customer upgrades include a Schroeder TL bridge, Schaller straplock buttons, and Cubic Zirconia “diamond” side dot inlays (installed by none other than Emerald City Guitars). It is rocking a Cream T “Caster” in the bridge position and a Gibson Burstbucker circa 2004 in the neck.
This guitar is in excellent condition. There is barely any sign of play in the Dunlop 6150 frets. The guitar has a couple of minor depressions in the finish in the area where the arm rests on the body, and a small blemish on the headstock just beyond the nut. You have to be looking closely to catch these. Pots and output jack are clean and the pickups sound great. All hardware is in tip-top shape.
How Does It Play?
We have given this guitar a fresh setup with a set of D’Addario EXL110 strings and it plays beautifully. String action measures 5/64” on the low E at the 12th fret, and 4/64” on the high E. Free of fretbuzz.
