This 1976 Gibson Bicentennial Thunderbird is a force to be reckoned with! Serial #00243426, it features mahogany wings and thru neck, original pickups,  and lays down a mean low end. It shows wear as you would expect, and we have photographed the most prominent spots close-up.

The three mini toggles are “producer’s switches.” Look up Lee Sklar producer’s switch if you want in on the joke. All that to say, the wiring has been returned to original schematic and the toggles are not wired in. All hardware and electronics function nicely and cleanly.

How Does It Play?

The frets have some wear but not enough to be problematic or necessitate a refret. In fact, the string action measures just 7/64” on the low E string at the 12^th fret and 6/64” on the high G, without any fretbuzz.

The original hard case is included. It is assisted by some tape at the butt end but it holds the bass.
