This 1973 Rickenbacker is serial #2860 and in really excellent condition for a 50 year old instrument. There are some dings around the edge of the body, most notably on the treble side where it rests on the leg. And light marks front and back. But the back of the neck is perfectly smooth and all hardware is working very nicely.
The pots turn cleanly without any noise and the pickups operate perfectly. We did change out the bass volume knob because the sticker insert had fallen off the original, but we will include the original knob as well.
How Does It Play?
We have given this guitar a full setup. The action measures 5/64” across all strings at the 12th fret. The frets show the guitar has been played and are quite low. However, there is no fret buzz anywhere on the neck!
