Just arrived via trade in! The Custom 22 is a flagship model in the PRS lineage. Its elegant curves, figured top, and iconic bird inlays make it a true modern classic. This example from 2000 is in great condition! Finished in a somewhat uncommon orange stain, the quilted top has a nice depth to the figure.

This model features PRS Dragon II pickups and a 5-way rotary switch. The pickups have a nice healthy output but aren’t too aggressive. They work great in all five positions, including the split positions in 2 and 4. The neck is the Wide/ Fat profile which is a PRS staple. It’s very comfortable and supportive. The tremolo works well and has a silky-smooth feel. There is a lot to like about this beautiful PRS!

How Does It Play?

The truss rod functions properly and the guitar sets up nicely. The string action measures just a hair over 4/64” on the low E string at the 12th fret, and right at 4/64” on the high E string. It plays silky smooth with factory recommended 9 gauge strings.
