Just arrived via trade in! The DC-3 is said to be the pre-curser to the Silver Sky and was many years in development at PRS. It’s a guitar that flew under the radar and was eventually discontinued, which is a shame! It’s a killer S-style guitar with a unique look and tons of mojo of its own.

The pickups are proprietary DC-3 single coils, which were also used in the 513 model. They are low-output singles with tons of vintage character. They have slightly rolled off highs and a meaty bass response. The finish looks to be a one-off metallic green, which sure does pop! If you are looking for a PRS that’s a little different, or an S-style without an ‘F’ on the headstock, you owe it to yourself to check out this DC-3!

How Does It Play?

The truss rod functions properly and the guitar sets up nicely. The string action measures right at 3/64” across all strings at the 12th fret. The neck finish is a oil/ satin hybrid that feels most excellent!
