In via trade! This 2022 Gibson Custom Shop '65 VOS Non-Reverse Firebird V has arrived! This is a faithful recreation of the original ’65 Non Reverse FB, down to the materials and nitro finish. We occasionally see Firebirds, but the ‘Non-Reverse’ models rarely show up at the shop.   

Featuring a non-weight relieved mahogany body, mahogany neck, ‘60s SlimTaper C neck profile, and Firebird Alnico V pickups. If you are local, come give it a spin, or contact us if you have any questions! As far as Gibsons go, this is a good one with that elusive mojo!

From Gibson: The second version of the Firebird carried the offset platform into new sonic territories. With its lightweight set-neck construction and the flipped orientation of the neck and body, the '65 Firebird V became beloved and revered for its functionality and style. This Custom Shop recreation uses authentic profiles and construction methods to provide an undeniable looking, feeling and sounding instrument.

How Does It Play?

The truss rod functions properly and the guitar sets up nicely. The string action sits at 4/64” on the low E string and just under 4/64” on the high E string, measured at 12^th fret.
