This 2022 Sterling by Music Man Majesty MAJ170 John Petrucci Signature guitar just arrived via trade-in. It’s in excellent condition and was very well taken care of. This is the budget friendly version of the Ernie Ball Music Man Majesty 7 string, but believe me, this doesn’t play like a budget instrument.

If you have followed John Petrucci’s guitar journey, the Majesty is one of the latest iterations of his never-ending quest for tone. The MAJ170 features an onboard active boost via a push-push volume pot for that little extra push over the cliff. Other specs include a Nyatoh neck and body, rosewood fretboard, 16” radius, and medium jumbo frets.  

How Does It Play?

The truss rod functions properly and the guitar sets up nicely. The string action sits at 5/64” on the low E string, and right at 4/64” on the high E string, measured at the 12^th fret.
