Just arrived via trade in! Shabat is not new to us, as we are a Shabat dealer. On occasion, we do get a used Shabat in store, and it never lasts long. They are one of the hottest boutique brands, and for good reason. The Lynx model is my personal favorite, and this was a 2024 NAMM showpiece. After plugging it in and spending some time with it, I can see why.

This Lynx may be the only HSH configuration I’ve seen on a Shabat. Equipped with a trio of Lollars, this is the creme de le crème of ‘superstrat’s’. The Standard Wind in the neck is the perfect PAF; full bodied with excellent clarity. The High Wind in the bridge is like a vintage PAF, but hotter! And the Blonde is a vintage ‘Strat’ style pickup, giving you some killer quack in positions 2 and 4.

Finished in a gorgeous cosmic sapphire lacquer finish, it’s going to be hard for me to see this one go, as this build is right up my alley! This beauty also features a Gotoh 2-point trem. It has silky smooth action and stays in tune well!

How Does It Play?

The truss rod functions properly and the guitar sets up nicely. The string action sits just over 4/64” on the low E string, and right at 4/64” on the high E string, measured at the 12th fret. Shabat’s necks are legendary. This one is on the slimmer side, but it still has plenty of material to grab on to.
