Just in via trade! Fano’s are nothing new to us, as we are a Fano dealer. But, this SP6 is especially cool with some unique specs! Pickups are a pair of Lollars, namely a Mini Humbucker in the neck and an Imperial in the bridge. And unlike most Fanos, this SP6 is sporting a set neck for maximum resonance!

The Lollar Mini in the neck is like a tighter, slightly quieter Imperial. It works great in the neck position, especially with its bigger brother Imperial in the bridge! The Imperial is the quintessential PAF-style humbucker in all its glory. It has the mid-bark, detailed top-end, and full low-end you hope for in a good bridge humbucker. It’s one of our favorite pickups.

Aside from the pickups, This SP6 features a set mahogany neck, mahogany body, rosewood board, and a sharp Bull-Black lacquer finish. This is a killer Fano for the fan of the singlecut! And with the set neck, it’s a rarity that stands out even amongst other Fano’s.

How Does It Play?

The truss rod functions properly and the guitar sets up nicely. The string action measures just a hair over 4/64” on the low E string and right at 4/64” on the high E string measured at the 12th fret. The neck is a late ‘50s profile, heavily aged for an ultra-smooth playing experience with no stickiness!
