Condition: Used, Very Good. Like what you see? All photos are of the exact item you will receive. There is some finish swirling and minor general playwear to the VOS Lacquer finish. There are also a few scratches on the top above the pickups, as well as a couple small dings on the back of the guitar. We’ve included photos so you can take a look!
In via trade! This 2025 Gibson R7 Goldtop is a beautiful example of the kind of historic accuracy and detail available from the Gibson Custom Shop. The 1950s Chunky D is my favorite Gibson neck profile, which is fat yet super comfortable.
Featuring a non-weight relieved mahogany body, maple top, and Custombucker Alnico 3 pickups. If you are in the market for a Gold Top, you’d be hard pressed to find a better player than this bad boy.
From Gibson: The Gibson Custom Shop is the pinnacle of craftsmanship, quality, and sound excellence. Each instrument celebrates Gibson's legacy through accuracy, authenticity and attention to detail.
The iconic '57 Goldtop has been the tool of choice for countless guitar heroes. Its elegant gold finish, classic solid mahogany/maple construction and versatile humbucking pickups represent everything one could possibly need in a Les Paul model. This authentic recreation exemplifies Gibson Custom Shop's tireless quest for accuracy to the original year of production, from the woods to the construction to the parts and precise contours throughout.
Each Custom Shop Reissue is every bit the instrument and statement piece as the priceless vintage examples, providing an ownership experience that is endlessly fun.
How Does It Play?
The truss rod functions properly and the guitar sets up nicely. The string action sits just a hair over 4/64” on the low E string and just under 4/64” on the high E string, measured at 12th fret.
