Condition: Used, Good.
Like what you see? All photos are of the exact item you will receive. It’s in good condition with minimal signs of play. However: There was at one time a reaction involving the case interior material and the lacquer finish. If you look closely, you can see where certain parts of the case interior have imprinted into the lacquer. The most visible spot is on the front left side, manifesting in a rectangular imprint. There are some other spots on the back and rims as well. We’ve included photos so you can take a look!
Just in! This is the first Michael Tuttle Instrument we have had the chance to play here at Guitars To Be Played. I’ve always heard excellent things about Tuttle’s guitars, and this one certainly does not disappoint! Michael Tuttle got his start at the legendary Valley Arts Guitars, and soon after started working with Don Grosh. In 2003, Michael Tuttle started Tuttle guitars, and the rest is history!
This ‘Classic T’ is a vintage-leaning T-style instrument with incredible attention to detail. Just like the name implies, the specs are classic Tele with a 7.25” radius, Alder body, maple neck, rosewood board, and medium jumbo size frets, and a lacquer finish. I think you’d be hard pressed to find a better built vintage style T!
How Does It Play?
The truss rod functions properly, and the guitar sets up nicely. The string action sits at 5/64” on the low E string and right at 4/64” on the high E string, measured at the 12th fret. The neck is a C shape that feels a bit rounder on the treble side, making it somewhat asymmetrical. It’s a nice fat profile with a little more shoulder on the bass side.
