Since its founding in 1956, the legendary Japanese brand Aria has been making high quality stringed instruments for over 60 years! Used by players such as Andy Summers, Kirk Hammett, Jack Bruce, and Michael Anthony, Aria has been the choice of musicians who are looking for great sounding well-made instruments that can deliver the goods night after night.

The SB-1000 is a faithful recreation of the classic 1978 bass, famously used by Cliff Burton, Rudy Sarzo, and John Taylor, among others. Its design was the culmination of new bass construction techniques and the precise Japanese craftmanship of the era. Continuing that tradition, the SB-1000 is crafted with the same standards that made it such a popular instrument with the top players of the time.

Features include neck-through construction, a heel-less cutaway, one MB-1E pickup, an active B.B. tone circuit, and Gotoh hardware. The active B.B. circuit provides six presets, all with varying degress of a ‘low-pass’ filter in line. This adds to the versatility of the MB-1E pickup’s mid forward tonality, giving you many sonic options.

It’s a bass that celebrates its ‘70s and ‘80s rock and pop roots, right alongside Spandex and hairspray. The SB-1000 is a modern classic, ready to provide a lifetime of killer tones and easy playability.

We give a thorough setup to every instrument that comes through our shop. From truss rod to nut slots, pickup heights to saddle heights, you can rest assured we have this one dialed in. We also do a thorough inspection and check of all electronics and hardware to make sure nothing slips by!

MB-1E PICKUP & B B CIRCUIT

The “B.B. Circuit” was one of the distinct functions that brought SB basses to stardom. It provides tons of sonic flexibility, literally at the turn of a single knob. Each of the six presets change the frequency of a low pass filter, altering the overall tonality.
