What Does Josh Think?

Close your eyes and you’ll swear the tones coming off the bridge pickup are a 60yr old LP Junior. Yet in the hand it feels distinctly Fender. The wraptail bridge delivers the barky, snappy goodness of a vintage LP. There is lots of room to move on the tone knob, offering up everything from Tele-esque twang to fat, rolled off rhythm tones.

The neck pickup is a lower wind P-90, soft and chewy in the midrange. Inherently warmer than the bridge pickup but stays perfectly distinct here in the neck. Anything that sounds good on the neck position of a Strat will sound good here too, only bigger. The middle position blends the two pickups harmoniously, for a middle position that is surprisingly rich and colorful.

How Does It Play?

The string action measures 4/64” on the low E string at the 12^th, and even lower on the high E. It can really rip. The neck profile is a slim-to-medium C. It relies on supportive shoulders rather than sheer depth to perfectly support the hand. The finish is sanded naturally off the back and will prevent any nitro stickiness as your hands get moving.
