What Do We Think?

The term “rings like a bell” is certainly true of this one. But so are a variety of other characteristics. It has the woody punch of a mahogany body, the tight attack of a maple cap, and the syrupy richness of a rosewood fretboard. The open coil zebra versions of the Lollar Imperials allow just a touch more top end to come through than their covered cousins, assuring you never get lost in the mix. 

How Does It Play?

This rock ‘n’ roll machine has the neck for the job. Think the neck Gibson was using at the turn of the ‘50s into the ‘60s. Round but very comfy and accommodating of all playing styles. The finish is also sanded off the back for a wonderfully smooth feel. The string action is exceptionally low without buzz, measuring just 4/64” on the low E string at the 12th fret and 3/64” on the high E.
