Each Fano Oltre series guitar is handbuilt in the USA using an old-growth North American Alder body, maple neck and a nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The result is a resonant, lively instrument crafted with care and precision. This series allows for a number of customizations, from color to pickguard, knobs to pickups. Models can be built with either a maple or rosewood fretboard to meet the needs of a variety of players. What Do We Think?

With the SP6, Fano does an amazing job of combining specifications not commonly seen together. This one features a Fano branded T-style bridge pickup and their P-90 in the neck. It has a proprietary bridge devoid of the cumbersome ashtray sides and swaps out the individual string ferrules of a standard T-style for a more substantial steel block mounted in the back of the body.

In the bridge position, this guitar maintains the classic twang and snap of your favorite tele. The Fano "T" Style pickup provides clear vintage-inspired output without any harshness. It pairs well with overdrives, offering a well-defined midrange that cuts through the mix beautifully.

The neck P-90 delivers warmth and punch to bluesy lead lines, and excellent note definition when playing chords. When switching to the middle position, the neck and the bridge create a very spanky attack and slightly scooped EQ. This lends to some very magical clean tones.

How Does It Play?

The string action on this beauty measures barely a hair over 4/64” on the low E string at the 12^th fret, and under 4/64” on the high E. There is no fretbuzz. The back of the neck is sanded smooth for an instantly broken in feel.
