We recently took in this killer 2022 Fender Custom Shop ’68 Thinline Journeyman Tele on trade. This thing oozes cool with a moderately aged black nitro finish. The neck is a comfortable ‘60s C with most of the lacquer worn off the back. Overall, it’s a great Custom Shop Tele!
It features an ash body, maple neck, ‘60s Style Oval C neck shape, 9.5” radius, Dunlop 6105 frets, aged ebony nitro finish, Bigsby B5 bridge, and hand-wound Twisted Tele pickups. The neck profile measures .850” at the first fret and .920” at the 12th fret. Also comes with the original case, spec sheet, and all the case candy. You gotta love a Thinline Tele with a Bigsby!
How Does It Play?
The frets are in excellent condition. The truss rod functions properly and the guitar sets up nicely. The string action measures just over 4/64” on the low E string at the 12th fret and right at 4/64” on the high E.
