We are so very excited to welcome Friedman Guitars to Guitars To Be Played! A legend in the world of boutique amplification, Dave Friedman has made a career designing and building some of the best amplifiers in the world. Not willing to rest on his laurels, Dave has tossed his hat in the boutique guitar ring, bringing his signature California style and sensibility.
Friedman guitar’s take on T and S style instruments is both classic and modern, pushing boundaries with incredible finishes and top-notch sonics. These guitars are handmade with excellent attention to detail. The finish work is one of Friedman’s strengths, giving us some of the best relic work out there. The pickups are Friedman’s own, providing outstanding tone. Rounding things out with beautiful fretwork and playability, there is a lot to love about Friedman guitars!
How Does It Play?
The string action sits at just under 5/64” on the low E string, and right at 4/64” on the high E string, measured at the 12th fret. The neck profile is Friedman’s medium C. It’s beefy with a nice round shoulder that get rounder as you ascend the neck. Jescar ‘s 55090 is the fretwire of choice, and one of our favorites here at the shop. Who doesn’t love a purple guitar!
