The Alt de Facto series is Fano’s top-of-the-line custom series. These are handbuilt in the USA by one luthier from start to finish so that every instrument tells a unique and cohesive story. What Do We Think?

Classic Rock ‘n’ Roll with some real sonic flare. And visual flare too, no doubt. The mahogany body, ebony fretboard and Lollar Imperial humbuckers all come together to provide a palette that is big, raw and energetic.

If you like the direction a Gibson ’57 Classic takes you but want to open up the tone and capture the air and nuance of the wood in the guitar, you are going to love the Lollar Imperials. Smooth and buttery but with incredible clarity, a perfect pickup to capture the resonance and rich texture of the mahogany body in high definition. The ebony fretboard also brings the guitar to life with quick, bold attack. We’re talking massive tone and excellent articulation. This guitar is fast on its feet.

How Does It Play?

The neck feels fantastic. Worn and natural in just the right spots. The profile is a comfortable medium-chunky C with a nice taper that allows you to dig in anywhere but really supports the hand no matter how you play. The ebony fretboard is delightfully smooth. The guitar sets up beautifully with just the right touch of relief and excellent string action up and down the fretboard.
