The S-Style that never was! The Kauer Electroliner features a Swamp Ash or Tempered Pine body and a Roasted Maple neck with Wenge or Roasted Maple fretboard. Full 25.5” scale length, big resonance and tight response, beautiful “in-between” position tones and a whole lot more to love.

What Do We Think?

We’re in love! No lie. We’ll be ordering more of these for sure. This guitar spanks, pops and thumps. It features Lollar Blondes in the neck and middle positions, and a Lollar Special S in the bridge for a little extra kick. The neck position has a rich, throaty vowel; warm with beautiful clarity on the top. Clean or dirty, it maintains its tight bass and open composure. Flip to the bridge for more meat in the upper midrange and a top end that attenuates right before it gets harsh. This pickup absolutely kills with some gain. No need to touch your tone knob to smooth it out.

The in-between positions are to die for and are really accentuated by the small details: the extra punch of the baked maple neck, the additional mass of the Highwood Contoured saddles, and the airy sweetness of the Swamp Ash body. Position 2 doles out ‘90s country tones with authority. “No One Else On Earth” to a T. It has a delightful pop and quack but with natural body underneath. Position 4 has incredible dynamics and balances warm with spanky. Both of these in-between positions are made all the better for having no volume drop coming from their adjacent positions.

How Does It Play?

The C neck on this guitar is slightly north of “medium”, ready to hold your hand all night long. It sets up very nicely and the frets are Plek’d and polished to perfection.
