What's the deal with refurbished?

This instrument is stamped "used" on the back of the headstock and given a new serial number by the manufacturer-authorized refurbisher. Why? The flagship offering in the Bella Tono series is the SC56S Allure. This model features a solid Spruce top, gorgeous Acacia back & sides and cutaway body design for easy access to the upper frets. The soundboard is adorned with stunning abalone for both the rosette and purfling and is bound in maple. The ebony fingerboard continues with the lush appointments, inlaid in abalone and turquoise.

This particular instrument has some cosmetic blemishes but is a fantastic player. There is no fretwear or any play wear in general. The arm bevel is extremely comfortable and makes this an especially good choice for someone who struggles with discomfort when playing a traditionally-shaped guitar.

It is really nice to see this guitar defy our expectations tonally as well... oftentimes the pretty guitars are the ones that don't sound as good in the sub-$1000 price range. But this one completely turns that expectation on its head. This guitar sounds big and loud across every string and every fret. It projects a broad, wide open EQ spectrum that leaves you plenty of room to color with the dynamics of your strumming, flat picking or finger picking.

How Does It Play?

The string action measures just 3/32" on the low E string at the 12th fret, and nearly down to 2/32" on the high E string. There is no fret buzz, no dead spots and no inconsistencies in the projection of the guitar at any point across the neck.
