The Alt de Facto series is Fano’s top-of-the-line custom series. These are handbuilt in the USA by one luthier from start to finish so that every instrument tells a unique and cohesive story. What Does Josh Think?
This GF6 has all the feels of a vintage piece. The mahogany body sports a maple top with light distressing, enough you won’t be worried about putting the first ding on it. A unique design feature of the GF6 that is well worth mentioning—as a point of differentiation from most semi-hollow guitars—is that it utilizes a solid top and solid back/sides. This gives it a bit more response and a really wonderful acoustic quality when playing.
The Lambertones Crema humbuckers very much fit in the vein of the low wind PAF’s sought after for semi-hollow builds. They’re warm but feature a clear midrange and sweet highs. They complement the GF6 really nicely. The Bigsby vibrato also offers the best of both worlds when it comes to vibrato vs. no vibrato. If you want to use it, it’s there. If not, it stays completely out of the way.
How Does It Play?
The early ‘60s-inspired C profile is temperately slim, but with a nice amount of shoulder to support the hand and thwart fatigue. The finish is sanded naturally off the back of the neck to prevent any nitro stick as your hands get moving. The string action measures
