The LsL Era Series Saticoy is a handmade S-style instrument crafted in Santa Clarita California. The Era series features a 4 stage “Flash Coat” ultra-thin nitro finish, allowing the guitar to resonate and breathe, and look good while doing so! Colors include Trans Butterscotch, Vintage Cream, Faded Shell Pink and Faded Sonic Blue, all finished over a northeastern white pine or alder body. Seymour Duncan stacked noiseless pickups are standard, with in-house hand-wound LsL pickups as an optional upgrade. Take one for a spin, you’ll be glad you did!

What Does Cam Think?

The LsL Era Series Saticoy is a wonderful option for those looking for a vintage inspired S-style with modern playability and sonics. I was immediately impressed by the buttery smoothness of the roasted maple neck and impeccable fretwork. The 4-stage finish reminds me of what you might find on a Fano or Novo, with a tactile wood grain underneath a thin layer of nitro.

Sonically, the Saticoy is in the ballpark of a classic S-style instrument, but with a slightly modern twist. The Duncan Noiseless pickups produce all the classic single coil tones, but as the name suggests, with no noise. Typically, I feel like there is a trade off with noiseless pickups, but the Duncans still sound the part.

The neck pickup is round and glassy, giving my chords and lines that classic ‘S’ tonality. The bridge and middle are nice and bright, helping positions 2 and 4 cut through the mix, but still sound quacky. I can’t help but notice the increased resonance of the pine body and the airy tonality it introduces to the overall tone. This is a killer S-style with all the right ingredients!

How Does It Play?

The action measures just over 4/64” on the low E string and right at 4/64” on the high E string. The neck is probably the highlight of this instrument for me. It’s just silky smooth and a great profile. It's supportive to the hand without being too thick or wide. The Era series from LsL really punches above its weight!
