The Alt de Facto series is Fano’s top-of-the-line custom series. These are handbuilt in the USA by one luthier from start to finish so that every instrument tells a unique and cohesive story. What Do We Think?

We’re big fans of the Lollar Staple P-90. It has the depth and body of a humbucker, but with a little more clarity and pick attack. We often describe the pickup as a woodier sounding version of a standard P-90. Think Derek Trucks when you throw a bit of dirt at it.

The Lollar Imperial in the bridge position really jives with the chime of the Bigsby hardware thrown into the recipe. The middle position has a lot to offer too, bearing semblance to the middle position on a Les Paul but with a bit more of the woody, organic character of the Staple P-90 coming through.

How Does It Play?

The neck profile is a comfortable medium-chunky C with a nice taper that allows you to dig in anywhere but really supports the hand no matter how you play. The guitar sets up beautifully with just the right touch of relief and excellent string action up and down the fretboard. The string action measures just 4/64” on the low E string at the 12^th fret and even lower even on the high strings. Free of fretbuzz.
