What Does Josh Think?

This guitar is hot and it’s loud! The neck position Lollar mini humbucker has T-style neck position feels, but throatier and with more output. The full size Imperial humbucker in the bridge position balances perfectly, dishing out a heavier midrange that really begs to be played hard. The maple neck is the perfect sounding board to keep everything well-defined even as you turn up the gain.

Cosmetically, the guitar is a winner as well. The Olympic White finish is beautifully aged, very creamy and vibes perfectly with the gold competition stripes. The neck is super smooth both up top and down the back, with any possibility of nitro stickiness preemptively done away with. The whole guitar feels legitimately broken in, from arm contour to pickguard screws.

How Does It Play?

The guitars sets up low and ready to go, with string action measuring just 4/64” at the 12^th fret. Fret not about fret buzz; there is none. The early ‘60s-inspired C profile is temperately slim, but with a nice amount of shoulder to support the hand and thwart fatigue. If you’ve never played a JM6, you’ll love the generous heel contour which makes getting to the upper frets nice and easy.
