Information

Brand New w/ Warranty. We are an authorized Fano Dealer.

Like what you see? All photos are of the actual instrument you will receive.

The Alt de Facto series is Fano’s top-of-the-line custom series. These are handbuilt in the USA by one luthier from start to finish so that every instrument tells a unique and cohesive story. Nitrocellulose lacquer finish on both the body and neck of course. If this isn’t exactly the guitar you are looking for, let us know what you want and we’ll get you the best price on your custom build.

What Does Cam think?

This was my very first experience with a Fano RB6T. I don’t think I’ve played a guitar quite like it. It’s a combination of several vintage guitar models all rolled into one, namely a ‘Special’, a ‘Thinline T’, and a ‘Rick’, if you catch my drift. It’s truly a unique feeling instrument, borrowing the best appointments of those classic designs.

The first thing you will notice before even plugging into an amp, is how loud the RB6T is acoustically. It’s quite remarkable, and a testament to the tight tolerances and solid design of Fano’s instruments. There is a brightness and air to the unplugged tone that translates favorably when this baby is plugged in. The Descendant bridge is partially responsible for the extra resonance, and with its silky-smooth action, you’ll be happy it’s on this guitar.

And speaking of plugging in, the RB6T sounds incredible with its set of Lollar P90’s. The neck position is just what I expected to hear. There is a warmth and fullness with a touch of jangle and clarity. Exactly what you want in a neck position P90. The bridge position is bright but not overly so, and with a tight low end. The most remarkable position to me is the middle. Strumming through a clean amp, it sounded almost acoustic! It had a 3D tonality that encompassed the best qualities of each pickup. That was a tone I wasn’t expecting to hear! Aside from the three-way toggle switch, the controls are master volume, master tone, and bass-cut. The bass cut knob is handy if you are playing through a muddy amp or want to lean-out your tone.

How Does It Play?

The Late ‘50s neck profile feels great! When grabbing chords, my hand is nicely supported. Fano doesn’t make a bad neck profile; I honestly love both that they offer. But, with the DNA of this design, a fatter neck seems to work best. Especially with the slinky 24.75” scale length. The string action on the guitar sits right at 4/64” on the low and high E strings measured at the 12th fret.
