Condition: Used, Good. Like what you see? All photos are of the exact guitar you will receive. This vintage 1978 Tele has been refinished in a ‘Mocha Brown’ relic paintjob. There are dings, dents, scratches, and wear throughout. We’ve included photos so you can take a look!
In via trade! This vintage 1978 Fender Telecaster Standard has all the mojo you could ask for. And boy, this ash body Tele is light at only 6lb, 11.3oz! While we don’t know the exact history of the finish, we believe the guitar was refinished in a brown ‘mocha’ paintjob and distressed. If you are in the market for a vintage player’s Tele that doesn’t break the bank, this ‘78 fits the bill! Features include an ash body, U neck shape, vintage sized frets, a 7.25” radius, new Emerson wiring harness with 4 position switch, original neck pickup, and replacement Fender ’62 Custom bridge pickup. The tones are excellent with the bonus 4th position of the neck and bridge pickup in series! Included are the original bridge pickup and original 3-way switch/ wiring harness.
How Does It Play?
The truss rod functions properly and the guitar sets up nicely. The string action sits at 5/64” on the low E string, and a right at 4/64” on the high E string, measured at the 12th fret. The frets are vintage in height, much akin to a Gibson fretless wonder.
