Just arrived via trade in! The CE line has always been one of my favorite PRS guitar lines, so I was bummed when they discontinued it. Once I saw that the CE-24 was coming back, I was hopeful they’d eventually bring back the CE-22 as well. I’m happy PRS has decided to finally reissue it, even as this limited edition. This CE-22 features a killer set of specs. It’s a great format to bring back the model with. The icing on the cake are the 58/ 15 pickups, which are warm with excellent clarity. The push/ pull tone pot splits the coils for even more versatility.

The PRS CE 22 Limited Edition combines the snap and sustain of a bolt-on guitar with the warmth and clarity of PRS’s vintage-inspired 58/15 LT pickups. PRS’s proprietary 58/15 LT pickups are designed for exceptional clarity and dynamic range, making the CE 22 perfect for players who crave a vintage-inspired tone with modern versatility. The push/pull tone control and 3-way toggle switch allow for a range of tones, from warm, full-bodied humbucking sounds to singing single-coil tones.

The foundation of this CE 22 Limited Edition is the combination of a mahogany body and maple top delivers balanced resonance and clarity, while the bolt-on maple neck adds brightness and definition. The vintage feel continues with a 22-fret, 25” scale length Pattern Regular neck that is instantly comfortable, familiar. The PRS CE 22 Limited Edition also comes with PRS Phase III Locking Tuners, featuring a handsome open-back design, unplated brass shafts, and highly usable gear ratio.

With its bolt-on construction, classic PRS aesthetics, and a voice that blends vintage warmth with bolt-on articulation, the CE 22 is a workhorse that’s ready for any stage or studio.

How Does It Play?

The truss rod functions properly and the guitar sets up nicely. The string action sits at just above 4/64” on the low E string and right at 4/64” on the high E string, measured at the 12th fret.
