In via trade! This is a bit of a rare bird indeed! It’s a vintage early ‘80s Fender Bullet Bass Deluxe. This is the 34” scale bass produced in the USA, and boy is it a cool one. It has plenty of mojo and ‘aura’, as the kids say. It was introduced to compete with the ‘student model’ import basses of the time but has recently gained a following for its unique Telecaster headstock, and punchy pickups. It sounds like a P-Bass but with more upper mids, so it cuts really well! This example is indeed vintage and has been played for years. There are dings, wear, etc, but that’s to be expected with a 40+ year old instrument. This is a cool piece, so don’t let it get away!
How Does It Play?
The truss rod functions properly and the bass sets up nicely. The string action sits at just over 6/64” on the E string, and right at 6/64” on the high G string, measured at the 12th fret.
