What Does Cam Think?
I’ve had the pleasure of playing a fair amount of Novo guitars. They are all consistently incredible instruments across the board. But sometimes one sticks out as being exceptional, where the specs come together in a cool way. This is one of those. We had this painted in a Lake Como blue with a lot of the incidentals I gravitate towards, including jumbo frets, a Mann-Made trem, Chunky C neck, and an Rosewood board. One of our techs, Parker, brought this one upstairs and told me it was a special one. And boy, was he right!
How Does It Play?
The string action sits at just over 4/64” on the low E string and right at 4/64” on the high E string, measured at the 12th fret. This build features Novo’s Chunky C neck profile. It is indeed chunky, but still round in the shoulders for comfort. The frets are Jescar Jumbo (57110), and they are my favorite! The Mann Made bridge is one of the best trems. It has plenty of mass for excellent note sustain.
