What Do We Think?

This guitar is LIGHT at just 6lb 9oz. But it has a massive, growling acoustic resonance. The Lollar Firebird in the neck position has a lot of body and a transparent midrange. If you find a typical humbucker in the neck to be a bit muddy, you’ll appreciate the extra clarity this pickup brings to the table. It has a sweet top end reminiscent of the best single coils.

The bridge position has both punch and precision. It is tight, bold and articulate. Even so, it can welcome a more PAF-styled humbucker tone when rolling back the tone knob, and responds very dynamically to your pick attack as well. You can get everything from Tele-like spank to searing lead tones to classic rhythm grind. The middle position delivers an effortless sparkle and shimmer while covering an expansive EQ range.

Note the tortoise purfling paired with the white binding on the body! We requested that specially and you won’t see many Banshees with it! It looks absolutely fabulous with the Toas Turquoise finish.

How Does It Play?

The string action hovers right around 4/64” across all strings at the 12^th fret, without a hint of buzz. The medium C profile is unabashedly generous and fills the hand nicely.
