What Does Josh Think?

This guitar really gets me right where I want a Strat to hit me… juicy and spanky at the same time. The midrange is clear and uncluttered, while the lows are bold and robust.

On the neck and neck/middle positions in particular, you can play clean single note riffs with thump and authority on the bottom strings. It punches hard even through a low wattage amp. Playing full chords will be equally rewarded with an expansive EQ register, with plenty of tone top and bottom. The middle register is there to support but not get in the way.

To bring the midrange forward more, simply step to the middle pickup. This position is tight and focused. Often overlooked on a Strat, this one will remind you why you should check it out and perhaps dwell on it a little longer.

The bridge humbucker is rich and fat. But it knows its place and does not overpower the single coils in any way. Output is very even across every pickup position. The bridge humbucker tailors the top end in such a way that the pickup can handle all levels of gain with poise. It will sound thick and round but also manages to convey all the detail in between.

How Does It Play?

The action measures just 4/64” across all strings at the 12^th fret. I find the medium C neck profile to very comfortable. The vintage nut width spec of 1.62” feels fast in the hand, as does the satin finish up and down the neck.
