Hand-built and made in the USA, it delivers classic American tone with the unmistakable Magnatone feel, balancing vintage character with modern reliability for stage, studio, and home use.

Developed in collaboration with Chief Engineer Obeid Khan and legendary guitar technician Larry Cragg, the Kingston was designed to deliver a vintage-inspired sound in a compact format that professionals can rely on. Featuring High and Low inputs, simple Volume, Treble, Bass, and Reverb controls, Digi-Log spring-style reverb, footswitchable reverb on and off, an external speaker output, and a 1/4-inch line out, the Kingston is a flexible and dependable amplifier finished in Magnatone’s Traditional Collection cosmetics.

What Do We Think?

This grab-and-go amp begs to be worked. It offers crystalline cleans at low values on the volume knob, but the beauty of its 12 watt design is that you can get it absolutely smoking without blowing off the roof. Even with single coils, you can dial up a rich crunch tone with room to spare.

Input 2 will garner you the classic Fender feel and tone. The amp stays warm and full even as you dip the volume knob to its lowest extent. It is much more linear than a typical Fender combo so you’ll have no problem dialing up rich tones at practice session levels. And moving the volume up towards noon will start to put a touch of hair on the note when you really want to get it singing.

Input 1 jumps you into hot-rodded territory. Think Dr. Z rather than Fender, but with chewier low mids. It can be turned into quite the raging machine as you push the volume past noon. Hang on and enjoy the ride! Weighing just about 30lb even while sporting a 12” speaker, this combo punches well above its weight.
