Powered by a single 12AX7 preamp tube and a 6L6 power tube, the Starlite Reverb 10 delivers 8 watts of Class A output through a Magnatone Custom 10-inch ceramic magnet speaker. The larger cabinet and upgraded power section provide added clarity and volume, making it equally at home in the bedroom, studio, or on small stages.​

Hand-built in the USA, the Starlite Reverb 10 includes Digi-Log spring-style reverb, High and Low sensitivity inputs, and Magnatone’s unique tone control that spans black-panel to tweed-inspired voicings with a mid-cut below 12 o’clock. Switchable negative feedback and an 8-ohm extension speaker output add flexibility, all wrapped in Magnatone’s Traditional Collection cosmetics.

Seriously, what is Magnatone feeding these little combos? We wouldn’t say this if it weren’t so, but these tones are genuinely HUGE. The Starlite Reverb 10 takes the control scheme and overall flexibility of the original Starlite but gives it new life, especially in the bottom end.

We very quickly found our Fender voicings on input 2. The tone control is most scooped at its lowest extent, and most mid-forward at its maximum value. Thus the EQ contour has a warm, lush bottom and spanky highs when all the way down, and morphs gradually towards a 5E3 Tweed voicing as you turn it up. Every position in between is completely usable, and the more you dial it up the more saturation you’ll get out of the amp.

Input 1 ups the ante. As the high sensitivity input, it provides breakup earlier on the dial. Though Magnatone does not advertise this in their literature, we find the amp to be capable of very Plexi-esque tones on this input. I personally prefer to pair it with the negative feedback loop in the off position to tighten up the amp and make the most of the gain this beauty has on tap. The amp “cleans up” very nicely from the volume control on your guitar in this configuration.

At just 17” wide, weighing 20lb and including built-in reverb, this amp is ready travel and get the job done wherever you go.
