Brand New with Warranty. We are an authorized Mario Martin dealer!
All photos and video are of the actual instrument. Nashville session great Pat Buchanan had his eye on this one after we picked it out at the Mario Martin booth at Summer NAMM and was kind enough to let us record a quick video.
Mario Martin guitars are hand built in Murfreesboro, TN just 40 minutes down the road from us! Undertaking the entire build process from cutting the body blank to spraying the final touch of nitro, Mario Martin achieves a level of guitar making well beyond partscaster builders who may look alike on the surface. These guys maintain one of the best collections of tonewoods around, and every neck/body/pickup combination is chosen carefully to amplify the personality of the guitar as a whole. Whether you crave an S-style guitar straight out of 1958 or the unique Tele-Strat mashup that is the Honcho, we are confident you’ll find what you’re looking for in a Mario Martin.
What Does Daniel Think?
This guitar is the real deal! With an insanely lightweight alder body and Brazilian Rosewood round veneer fingerboard, this Strat is poised to be a true vintage guitar killer. It weighs in at 6lbs 8oz and has that nice dry mid-range “sizzle” that can be hard to find in a new instrument. The out of phase positions of the Fralin Vintage Hots speak with distinction, without losing much volume when compared to the single pickup positions. The fit and finish on Mario’s guitars have me feeling I am playing a superb example built in the 50’s and 60’s, and I find it very hard to put this one down. You are going to have to look in the masterbuilt tier to get the same specs from the Fender Custom Shop and that will start at about $7K… don’t let this one get away!
How Does It Play?
Mario guitars are dialed in perfectly by the builders, and they’re just down the road so the guitars really don’t even go through any environment change from their shop to ours. But we still do our due diligence just as on every other guitar we sell, making sure we are familiar with the guitar on a personal level and giving one more test of every component and a final check on the setup before shipping. But to sum it up in just a few words, playing a Martin Martin guitar is simultaneously effortless and electrifying.
