Novo is treating their dealers (and our customers) to a dealer limited run of finishes in the Nucleus series. This Serus J comes in a Candy Apple Orange over Purple Stranger finish, with no upcharge for the finish over finish!

What Do We Think?

The Novo Nucleus series Serus J features a Tempered Pine body, East Indian Rosewood fretboard and a Tempered Maple neck. Acoustically, the body resonates with perfect focus and energy. It is loaded with a set of Lollar P-90's, a Mastery bridge and Novo-engraved Mastery vibrato. This all adds up to be the perfect recipe to deliver tones that are charmingly big and clear, yet ready to snarl when called on.

The process Novo uses to cure their woods draws out a character typically found only in vintage guitars with decades of natural aging. The traditional methods of baking can result in a guitar sounding and feeling a little stiff. But Novo’s tempering process brings out a resonance than makes the guitar feel perfectly broken in. We thoroughly enjoy the results.

How Does It Play?

The String action sits at 4/64” across all strings, measured at the 12^th fret. The medium C neck is subtly sanded for a completely non-stick but natural feel down the back of the neck. The fret ends and fretboard edges are rolled smoothly and subtly without taking off too much material, and the string action is nice and low without buzz.
