This limited run of guitars was built by Dennis himself, with help from the incredible Novo team.

What Does Cam Think?

I can say with complete confidence that Novo makes some of the best guitars produced today. Their popularity only seems to grow, which isn’t a surprise, given their amazing quality, consistency, and knock-out aesthetics. The Signature Series takes it a step further with ‘off the menu’ options and specs. It’s a way for Dennis Fano to stay creative and do some small runs and one-offs, experimenting and having fun.

Being a big fan of semi-hollow guitars, the Miris is naturally my favorite Novo model. I’m always impressed at the resonance of these; they sound about as loud as a thin-line acoustic! And the ‘Rick’ inspired Fire Glow finish on this Signature is a nice touch.

The Lollar Novel T pickups are a neat choice, and after plugging in, I can see exactly why they were chosen. They are essentially ‘Tele’ style pickups in a humbucker size. The bridge pickup sounds fat and articulate, but without a strident high-end. It will push your amp just enough to get that aggressive Tele tone. The neck pickup is clear and defined, but with a juicy midrange character that makes your playing fluid. This would be a killer choice for someone looking for T-style tones, but with the flexibility, playability, and style only a Novo can provide.  

How Does It Play?

The Novo neck profiles are excellent, with the Medium C carve being the most accessible. It’s full and supportive, with rounded shoulders for maximum comfort. The Medium fret size works very well with this model; not too big, but big enough for easy playability. The string action measures right at 5/64” on the low E string at the 12^th fret and right at 4/64” on the high E.
