What Do We Think?

Here’s one that breaks the mold! One piece maple neck featuring a 10-12” compound radius, and an alder body that screams resonance even before you plug in. It’s loaded with a Lollar Special S in neck/middle and overwound Imperial humbucker in the bridge for when you do. Complete with a Floyd Rose Original trem and stripped-down two-knob control layout.

This guitar has an incredibly impactful bottom end, both on the single coils and the humbucker. Through the singles, the midrange is subtly scooped but has a round attack that leaves nothing lacking in its delivery. The top end is wide open and vibrant. Gutsy on the neck, and gorgeous combination of shimmer and spank in the neck/middle position.

The Lollar overwound Imperial is incredibly thick and juicy through the midrange. You might even say it’s dark on your clean tones, but it sure sounds good with a tube amp firing on all cylinders. For clean tones, the pickup sounds remarkable when coil split. There is little volume drop and it has plenty of power left over.

Combining the humbucker with the middle pickup dishes out a rich, delicious vowel that works just as nicely under loads of drive as it does for copious clean tones. It has less quack than the traditional position 2, but still makes a nod to it. And coil splitting the humbucker in this position gives you a traditional, glassy Strat tone that sounds equally as good.

The finish is a lightly distressed Ice Blue Metallic nitro, very easy on the eyes. The guitar features aged chrome hardware complete with a Floyd Rose R3 locking nut. Plastics consist of a 3-Ply mint green pickuard and parchment knobs and single coil covers.

How Does It Play?

While this guitar feels nice and fast with a perfect fret job and 9.5 to 44 string gauge, it also retains a nice traditional medium C neck profile. The back of the neck is lightly sanded to remove the stick of the nitro and keep it smooth all night long. The string action measures just 4/64” on the low E at the 12^th fret and only 3/64” on the high E.
