Starr Guitars isn’t exactly a new kid on the block. For years, Kip Elder has been doing high-end finish makeovers and killer vintage restorations. On the side, he’s been doing custom from-the-ground-up builds for a selective clientele. As he expands his luthier business, Guitars To Be Played is proud to come onboard as a dealer and share the work of Starr Guitars with a larger audience.

How Does It Play?

The string action sits at just over 4/64" on the low E and right at 4/64" at the high E, measured at the 12^th fret. The Shallow C neck profile almost has a slight D shape to it, which is right up my alley. But the shoulders are comfortable and the neck is super playable. The fretwork feels great and bending is silky smooth!
