It’s a fully hand-crafted tribute to the original 1960s copper panel design, refined with modern features like a master volume, transparent effects loop, and spring reverb, delivering all the vintage character, with greater control and reliability. For players who prefer a tighter low end, warmer mids, and faster speaker saturation, the Greenback version offers a bold and responsive alternative.

At the core of the AC15’s voice lies the EL84 power section and a critical detail: the way the phase inverter begins to distort as the amp is pushed. This adds subtle, musical harmonics that define the VOX sound, different from typical preamp gain. That signature character is all here, enhanced by the Celestion Greenback’s faster breakup and throatier midrange.

Custom Transformers and a Responsive Cabinet

A hand-wound output transformer reproduces the original midrange growl and harmonic layering, while the 12mm birch ply cabinet construction delivers authentic resonance. The slightly looser low end and softer highs of the Greenback speaker complement this perfectly, offering a tone that’s warm, bold, and easy to drive.
