How Does It Play?

The string action sits at 4/64” across all strings, measured at the 12^th fret. The Xotic Modern C neck profile one of the best neck profiles around. It has very round shoulders for superb comfort. The oil finish on these necks is legendary. I don’t think we work with a builder who makes quite as smooth of a neck as Xotic. If you’ve ever had reservations about a neck being sticky, this would be the opposite. Your fretting hand isn’t hindered in any way.

The Jescar nickel silver fretwire is top notch. You get the tonality of nickel/ silver with durability that’s closer to that of stainless steel. The 55090 fret size is probably the most versatile all-around fret profile. It’s plenty tall for enhanced playability, but not as wide as jumbo width, so it doesn’t feel oversized.
